Volunteers do the work this foundation actually runs on: sitting with someone through a hospital night, visiting an elder every week, tutoring a student who is nearly there.

Because that work puts you next to people at vulnerable moments, every volunteer goes through a safeguarding review before placement. It takes a little longer. It is not negotiable.
